Yoni had every intention of becoming a nice, Jewish doctor, but during his freshman year at New York University a floor-mate put a DSLR in his hand and he discovered his true calling. He went on to complete his pre-med track - a major in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry - while interning in COSMOPOLITAN magazine’s photo department and eventually, photo rep giant Art Partner. From there he began assisting some of the industry’s most prominent fashion photographers, while honing his craft in New York and fostering his own professional aesthetic; clean, modern, and graphic.
In 2011, Yoni relocated to Los Angeles, and he began dabbling in moving images because people kept asking. In 2013, he lent his cinematographic talents to Frankie Shaw’s SMILF; the film won the Jury Prize at the 2014 Sundance Film Fest, and is currently on it's second season at Showtime. He has shot more short films and music videos than he can count, and is currently in pre-production on an indie feature, White Like Me.
Today, his client list includes Target, Hulu, Lululemon, Kohl’s, Guess, Harper Collins, Redbook, etc. Yoni has traveled the world while working with fair trade artisan marketplace The Little Market and recently had his work on the New York Times bestseller’s list with Lauren Conrad’s Celebrate.
Given his diverse education and background, Yoni is able to approach his craft with a uniquely scientific perspective. He excels at bridging both the technical and creative aspects of work while evaluating their importance and weight with respect to his client's goals.
